LIDDERWAT TREK: SHORT TREK TO THE BEST CAMPING SITE

The scenery of Lidderwat can make anyone go "wow" due to the dense Forests and lush green grasslands in its vicinity.


Overview

The Lidderwat trek is an expedition that takes the explorers of nature to one of the best camping sites in Kashmir and provides them the proper experience of adventure. A path that goes through an evergreen Forrest filled with pine and maple trees lead to this wonderful place set at a decent elevation. The route followed, makes the trek more delightful as the Lidder river joins the tourists alongside while they are just some distance away from the site.

Liderwat Ideal for Camping

Lidderwat is considered ideal for camping and is known as the perfect place to spend some quality hours with friends beside a bonfire. Trek to this wonderful place can be a walk or a pony ride which is equally satisfying. Lidderwat also serves a base camp for certain treks. There is only one tea stall in the valley which provides the basic edibles and probably is the only chance of human interaction after leaving Aru valley. Aru valley is the first stoppage of the tour and the best place to take rest for the trekkers in the journey. Overnight stay in the camping site of Lidderwat after setting up.

Trekking Equipment

Trekking poles and mats will be given to the trekkers. First aid will be there for emergencies.

Transportation

Two-way transport of SUV cars will be provided for a convenient drive. Horses to carry backpacks.

Meals

Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner will be served (vegetarian and non-vegetarian). Camping Waterproof Tents, warm sleeping bags, ropes, mats, blankets.


Detailed Trek Itinerary

Day 1 : Srinagar – Pahalgam – Aru Valley – Lidderwat

The tourists start from Pahalgam, accompanied by our guides. The trek can either can walk or a go on horse ride. We go through the pine Forests heading towards Aru valley which is our first resting site in the trek. On reaching this place we have that last glimpse of Pahalgam. As we move higher we find the plants of Red clover and Dactyls grown on the sides of the path. Head towards the Lidderwat and have camping here and have campfire.


Day 2 : Lidderwat – Pahalgam – Srinagar

We trek down to Aru valley and head towards Pahalgam for a return. We leave the camping site and follow the same route on our return. Tour ends on reaching Pahalgam. Drop at Srinagar for the tourists who opt for the same. End of expedition after that


Pahalgam

Location : Anantnag District

One of the most alluring places in the Kashmir valley, Pahalgam is the best place to begin the trek from. "The valley of shepherds" is a name that suits perfectly to the beautiful greenish meadow. The town has always had a good reputation for maintaining a soothing climate that adds to the initial enjoyment of the tourists. The natural beauty of this wonderful place is unmatched and has it's own uniqueness. The ruins of Avantipur is of great interest to the tourists. Fishing is an activity that no one can afford to miss in here and sightseeing is also equally enjoyable.


Aru Valley

Location : 12 km from Pahalgam

Lying on the banks of Lidder river, Aru valley’s panoramic view holds the power to teleport anyone into a different and heavenly place. This valley is home to many natural springs and the eye-catching Shepherd huts. The greetings of the Shepherds and the view of grazing sheep in the lush meadow is a delightful experience. It is the first and only resting spot for the trekkers in the tour before reaching Lidderwat. This valley is surrounded by about 20 lakes, peaks and meadows which contribute the beautiful ecosystem of the town. This place is perfect for trekkers going on tour to spend some time to re-energise.


Lidderwat

Location : 13 km from Aru Valley

After trekking for a few miles from the stoppage, the tourists will finally reach the destination, Lidderwat. This place is widely known for the beautiful view of the Forests of maple and pine trees. The magnificent panoramic views of the hills all around will win anyone's heart. Lidderwat valley is a nice place for camping out and since this place is surrounded by trees and natural wonders, it doesn't fail to make a good atmosphere for someone to spend the night in the tents. This is an adventure filled experience along with an opportunity to witness the real beauty of nature. This expedition is not one to miss out on.
